Complex and uncertain environments stimulate the formation of interorganizational arrangements, such as networks, in the pursuit of improving companies' competitiveness. In this regard, the aim is to understand the functioning of interorganizational networks through the analysis of the microfoundations of firms' coevolution, both within these networks and with the network itself, throughout their transactional processes, as well as the control mechanisms that govern such relationships. To this end, three national networks involving multiple actors (affiliated and external organizations) were studied through a case study approach. The results indicate the existence of coevolution among the participating agents in the networks, as well as between these agents and the networks, indicating different levels of coevolution depending on the companies' participation in the network. Similarly, the influence of the networks' configuration and governance practices on coevolution is observed, shaping the profile of relationships and transactional processes.
